Brief History

Conservatories gained popularity in Victorian times, when they were designed specifically for housing tender plants. Today they are seen as a practical and beautiful addition to your home for entertaining, working or playing. They extend your home into your garden and with full climate control air conditioning you can enjoy the experience all year round.

specifications

The three basic types of conservatory are Victorian, Edwardian and Sun Lounge or Lean-to, but many different variations and combinations are also available to suit your exact requirements. Generally speaking it is possible to build the conservatory of your choice but modifications may have to be made depending upon ground works or how the conservatory links up to your house. For a conservatory to feel like a natural addition to your home it must be carefully planned, designed and manufactured, our experienced surveyors will advise you free of charge as to the best solution.

Victorian

A Victorian conservatory is the classic English design with a beautiful segmented appearance forming a bow shape on the front, and is completely adaptable to suit all house styles. For bungalows and other height-restricted situations, a hipped roof with box gutter can be supplied. Available in 3 or 5-facet designs our Victorian features five walled, 25mm polycarbonate with uPVC clad aluminium roofing bars. A decorative finial (spike) and ridge cresting are supplied as a standard.

Edwardian

A more modern style, with square sides a pitched roof and cresting. The Edwardian conservatory offers an elegant look with strong bold lines and gives maximum living space for any given area.

It is completely adaptable to suit all house styles and bungalows. Again, if height is a problem then a hipped roof with box gutter can be supplied.

Sun Lounge or Lean-to

Offers simple clean lines, so called because this style appears to 'lean' against the house wall generally with a flat roof or a low pitched hip.

This gives maximum living space for any given area and features a insulating, 25mm, five-walled, polycarbonate roofing system. The Lean-to is the most economical conservatory style.

Combination types

The P-Shaped conservatory is a combination of both Lean-to and either Victorian or Edwardian style conservatories. It is completely adaptable to suit all house styles and bungalows. This style can be varied so that the Lean-to section is at either side, or in the case of a T-Shaped conservatory, at both sides and is suitable for larger width applications.

Finishing Touches

You can also tailor your conservatory with a range of features and finishing touches like beveled glass designs, attractive cresting and roof finials. Every conservatory design is available in white, mahogany or golden oak wood effect finishes to suite your taste.

All our conservatory doors come with high security hook and shoot bolts with central deadbolt as a standard, patio doors have multipoint locks and anti-lift devices fitted, and toughened safety glass is included to comply with building regulations.

Porches

A complete range of entrance porches to enhance the front of your home can be built to your individual specification, please ask our surveyor for full details.

Orangeries

Orangeries feature a flat roof perimeter which translates internally into a deep ceiling around all four sides into which cables can be hidden. It offers a slightly different take on traditional conservatories with a great way to add style and space to your home.
